Dr. Junehong Kim is a distinguished cardiologist and the founder and CEO of Tau Medical, established in 2014. His vision for advancing minimally invasive cardiovascular therapies began during his tenure at Pusan National University (PNU) and Pusan National University Yangsan Hospital (PNUYH), where his clinical and academic leadership continues to this day.

Prior to founding Tau Medical, Dr. Kim served as a Senior Research Fellow in Cardiovascular Intervention at the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) from 2005 to 2007, where he specialized in translational research and interventional cardiology.

He currently holds dual appointments as Professor of Internal Medicine at PNU and Director of Internal Medicine at PNUYH, and also leads the Medical Research Center at the university.

Dr. Kim received both his M.D. and Ph.D. from the College of Medicine at Pusan National University. His ongoing work bridges academic medicine, clinical innovation, and entrepreneurial leadership in the development of next-generation structural heart therapies.
