As Chief IP Officer at Tau Medical, Justin Kim leads the company’s intellectual property strategy, protecting and commercially optimizing Tau’s core technologies. His work secures the company’s innovations and positions Tau for the global medtech market.
Before joining Tau, he was a partner at Maxon IP, a firm specializing in medical device patent prosecution and strategic counseling, and previously served as a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Earlier in his career he worked as a wireless application engineer at Texas Instruments in Dallas, Texas.
He holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University Law School in Indiana. He is a senior advisor to the Korean American Intellectual Property Bar Association (KAIPBA) and served as its President from 2017 to 2018.
